Only You
Only You - Willa Okati
3.25 Stars ~ Book Review by Teresa

This is the second book in the Soulmarked series. As with the first, I found the idea of soulmates intriguing. Only You explores what may happen if you fall In love without a soulmark to back you up, only to have one partner develop the soulmark later. Possibly for someone else…

Though the story was quite predictable, I liked the characters of Nick and Barrett. I felt their pain as they faced the dissolution of their relationship. The story was an easy and quick read...

Better Than Friends (Better Than Stories)
Better Than Friends (Better Than Stories) - Lane Hayes
4.75 Stars ~ Book Review by Caroline

Loved this! Perhaps even my favourite of the series.

This is a series that always leaves you with a smile on your face. Not too much angst, not too much drama, always lots of emotion and always flawed and loveable characters. From the very start of the book when Jack and Curt meet at the wedding I fell for them both.

Curt is a funny, witty, untidy control freak. His life revolves around work and a very small group of friends. His father, who threw him out of the family home as a teenager for being gay, is dying and he really doesn’t know how to feel or handle that. He has been off the dating scene for a while but with all his close friends pairing up and settling down he is starting to wonder what life holds for him...

Restitution From His Mate
Restitution From His Mate - Charlie Richards
~ Book Review by PizzyGirl

Restitution from His Mate was a short romance between a shifter and his mate. Just as the previous installments in Charlie Richards’ series, this was a mating tale with instant sexual pull. However, this time it was a bit different. After meeting his mate, James was accidentally shot by a spooked human. Because of the gunshot wound, Logan and James couldn’t act on their sexual urges right away. Therefore they got to know each other and in the end, Logan made the decision to mate with James, not just because of the sexual urges but because of genuine affection...

Hard Feelings
Hard Feelings - Ashlyn Kane, Morgan James
~ Book Review by Brandilyn

Rylan and Miller hate each other on sight. Actually, that isn’t quite true; Rylan is an ass to Miller from the moment they meet. They still managed to have a hot time in Hawaii. Of course in the grand tradition of romance novels, a month or so later they have to work together. Not only work together, but share and office and co-head a project team. They find that sex is a great way to relieve the tension between them from the UST and Rylan’s general asshattery. Once they start fucking like bunnies, the slowly realize there is more...

Dirty Secret
Dirty Secret - Rhys Ford, Greg Tremblay
4.5 Stars ~ Audiobook Review by Brandilyn

Story:

The second installment in Cole McGinnis Mysteries series picks up not long after the events of Dirty Kiss. Cole is recovering from being shot, again, and he is once again embroiled in the rather interesting world of the Korean elite.

Honestly, as much as I love mysteries, the mystery gets a little lost for me in the plethora of Korean names. I can MOSTLY follow it, and it is a pretty darn good one, but I do get a bit confused now and then...

Raising Shawna
Raising Shawna - Vicktor Alexander
~ Book Review by Ulysses

I’m giving Viktor Alexander four stars for “Raising Shawna” for a number of reasons.

He has characters who are black, white, mixed-race, straight, gay, transgender. He deals with all of this with compassion and sensitivity. He lets these people love each other and makes us love them all.

He realizes that not all of America is friendly to gay people or people of color. He places his novel in Pensacola, Florida, one of these unfriendly places. Gay folk live in places like these, as hard as it may be for some of us to imagine. We need to read about them and their lives outside of New York, San Francisco, LA and Chicago (much as I love all those places)...

Jurassic Heart
Jurassic Heart - Anna Martin
~ Book Review by Brandilyn

Yep, this is me reading another geek protagonist. We all know I have a thing for geeks. Nick was the perfect geek — knowledgeable, socially awkward, glasses wearer, but not unrelatable. At its core, Jurassic Heart is an opposites attract / enemies to lovers tale low on angst and high on the happily ever after.

Nick and Hunter hate each other on principle. They are on opposite sides of the professional lines, but when they are off the clock, the tension sizzles. I will be honest; I never fully understood why they would want to be together, but when they were there were fireworks...

Dancing on the Edge
Dancing on the Edge - L.M. Somerton
~ Book Review by Caroline

4 Stars
We have met Carey and Alistair in the previous books. Although Alistair is not collared there is no doubt the pair are an exclusive D/s couple and very much in love. Carey is older than Alistair and likes to live a relatively quiet life and his biggest fear is that Alistair will get bored with him. Alistair's father is a high flying business man and the biggest asshole around. When his career becomes more public the last thing he wants anyone to know about is his gay son and his apparent deviant lifestyle. His answer to this is to kidnap Alistair and shove him into conversion therapy where he will have the ‘gay’ quite literally tortured out of him...

Living on the Edge
Living on the Edge - L.M. Somerton
~ Book Review by Caroline

This is a book that proves not everything is always as it seems. Aiden Keller has a fantastic mind and it appears to have got him into trouble when he is convicted of hacking. To keep him out of prison he is sent to The Edge for 12 months to basically be a general dogsbody and keep his nose out of trouble. Aiden immediately becomes friends with Olly but it is the dark and broody Heath that stirs him. Heath can’t seem to stay away from Aiden but knows he can’t touch him whilst he is under his care, 12 months seems like a very long time!...

Reaching the Edge
Reaching the Edge - L.M. Somerton
~ Book Review by Caroline

Reaching The Edge
4 Stars
This is book 1 and introduces us to many characters. It also takes us inside the BDSM club known as The Underground and we learn more about the successful business called The Edge. All of this is pertinent for setting up the series.

Submissive Olly was abandoned by his last master, a vicious and cruel man, after being left traumatised by a riot where he worked. Trying to rebuild his life he starts work at The Underground where he meets Joe. Joe is a Dom who is tiring of occasional play with different subs and wants to find a life partner...

Greymalkin (Melusine's Cats Book 1)
Greymalkin (Melusine's Cats Book 1) - Chris Quinton
4.5 Stars ~ Book Review by Beverley

I was just relaxing into this novel being introduced to the disgraced Rugby player Jesse Adams and loving the easy writing style when I reached chapter two and nearly gave up. The story suddenly changed location, and for a few pages it felt like the language had changed as well with a plethora of welsh sounding names and words that my brain could not pronounce.

I find if my brain cannot pronounce a name I don’t seem to retain it and a book can become confusing. However, as I was reviewing I persevered, and I am so glad I did!...

The Trouble With Tony
The Trouble With Tony - Eli Easton
4.25 Stars ~ Book Review by Brandilyn

Eli Easton is a go to read for me when I need something light-hearted that doesn’t make me go into sugar shock. She has never disappointed me, and Trouble with Tony did not fail me. Her stories are not, on the whole, deep or profound. They are a somewhat whimsical look at life through Ms. Easton’s eyes

In the case of Trouble with Tony, Tony DeMarco had to see a sex therapist (for a client of course). When his attempt at a ruse failed, he decided to tell the truth. The truth that he had a “picky dick.” Just the NAME was enough to get me smiling. Tony and Jack were both a little blind to their own feeling and each others, but in the end, they got there...
