In everyday life vampires exist although very humans know about them. That is the way the vampires would like it to stay.

Welcome to the V Unit. A group of marines who felt they could walk away from their human lives and become vampires and are now governed by a committee of vampires who have had extremely long and interesting lives. This group is so secretive not even the president is aware of them.

The premise for the story is based on a power struggle amongst the elders who sit on the vampire committee. Internal struggle may well be their downfall unless they can put a stop to it. Ariston in his arrogance and madness has decided that he should be leader and his solution to this is to both kill and turn humans and bring the vampires existence to light in the human world...
